The Workers’ Compensation Institute announced this week that they will offer a “stress reduction” Puppy & Kitten Cuddle Zone at their annual Workers’ Compensation Education Conference in Orlando this December. It will be offered through the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and is another element of WCI’s community support initiatives.

I don’t know about you, but my conference plans are now set.

According to the announcement sent yesterday, the Spirit to Serve initiative will help sponsor the rescue of dogs and cats being transferred from hurricane-impacted situations like those that occurred this year in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas.

After Hurricane Ida devastated Louisiana and Mississippi more than 250 dogs and cats were transported to Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. As well as receiving the dogs and cats, Pet Alliance acted as a rescue hub coordinating with other states and organizations to get the animals the care they required – and eventually their “furever” homes.

How To Help?

  • Conference attendees are encouraged to donate to our Pet Food Drive. Dog, cat, puppy, and kitten food is needed to feed the many hungry mouths. Donations will be collected at registration and at the Cuddle Zone in the exhibit hall.
  • Monetary donations will support Rescue Transfer for animals in need.

NEW For Our 2021 Conference – Puppy & Kitten Cuddle Zone

Puppies and kittens equal stress relief! Visit the NEW Puppy & Kitten Cuddle Zone, sponsored by ConservCare, Inc. and McConnaughhay, Coonrod, Pope, Weaver & Stern, P.A., located in the exhibit hall. Recharge, relax and play with furry friends in need of love and a home from the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.

As I’ve written before, this will be a surprise to many, as my blog exudes on a daily basis the very essence of studly manly manliness, but I am a complete softy for cute and fuzzy animals. With the announcement of this service, my conference plans became crystal clear. Sunday, volunteer at the Kids’ Chance Golf Tournament, and Monday thru Wednesday, spend time reducing stress at the Puppy and Kitten Cuddle Zone. It will be a most worthwhile conference experience. Maybe I’ll see you there.
